Philips Special Lighting has been market leader in the field of entertainment lighting for many years. In order to bring this to the attention of both stakeholders and the target group, a campaign with real impact was needed. Bovil created a campaign that was not about lamps, but about the effect that you can achieve with them. Not the product, but the application. To promote the Philips Platinum Range, a high-end lighting line specially developed for concerts, film and studio productions, theatre shows and DJ and club performances, we developed a testimonial campaign starring the professionals themselves. Each year, one aspect of all these applications is highlighted in the campaign.
In the last campaign, the theatre show The One Grand Show in Berlin was the focus of attention. The Grammy Award winning lighting designer Peter Morse (known for major concert shows by Michael Jackson, The Eagles and Barbara Streisand, among others) was at the helm. Bovil’s team travelled to Berlin and, in collaboration with photographer Ralph Larmann, created a comprehensive testimonial campaign with videos and an extensive photo shoot featuring Peter Morse. All this material served as content for the campaign, which was also heavily used online.
